Also known as dame's violet, and damask. This European wildflower is popular with beneficial insects, bees, butterflies, moths, other pollinators and is a food plant for caterpillars. Grows to 90cm tall and 40cm across in full sun or partial shade and moist but well-drained soils. Scented purple flowers are produced from May to June.
